How It Works

Your House

What happens at your house?  When our installers arrive, they place a wireless unit near or on your house.  You can see a sample installation to the right.  The unit is approximately 7" x 10" x 3".

The unit has two parts

  1. An antenna
  2. A computer

The antenna receives the signal and transfers the data to a wireless card on the computer.  The onboard computer then sends the data to a cable that runs from the unit, through the exterior wall of your house into a room of your choice.

The wire can then be plugged into a single computer or into a wireless router that can distribute the signal to multiple computers.

  1. The Internet is delivered to I20Access via fiber to our offices at 211 East Tyler Street in downtown Longview.

  2. Then the Internet is sent to one of our eight antennas mounted at the top of the building.

  3. Next, the signal is broadcast to over 35 towers located in Hallsville, Longview, and Kilgore.

  4. In turn, these towers rebroadcast the signal to local neighborhoods. If your house or business is located within our broadcast areas, you can access high-speed Internet by subscribing to our service.

Note: Our installation cost includes providing an Internet-ready cable through an exterior wall into a room of your choice.  Our liability insurance does not permit us to utilize attics, cellars, or crawl spaces.  If your required destination for the cable requires access to these areas, I20Access will provide the necessary cable, but the customer must assume the responsibility for the installation in these areas.
